Granny’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

INGREDIENTS
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup Granny’s Good Ol’ Fashion Bacon Drippings room softened (this is replacing a cup of butter, which remember has more saturated fat and cholesterol than Granny’s Bacon Drippings)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups of your favorite brand semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts or skip this part if you don’t want them in your cookies.

PREPARATION
Preheat over to 375 degrees
Stir together flour, baking soda, salt and set aside.
In a different mixing bowl, beat Granny’s Bacon Drippings, sugar and brown sugar until you get a creamy consistency. Now add your vanilla and eggs (one egg at a time) and mix on a low speed until well incorporated.
Now, GRADUALLY, blend the dry mixture into the creamy mixture. Now stir in your chocolate chips and nuts (if you are using them). I use a small ice cream scoop and drop onto a greased cookie sheet. Cook for 8 minutes depending on how “gooey” you like your cookies, they keep cooking a little once you bring them out of the oven. 8 minutes works for me in my oven. Depending on how big your scoop is, will depend on how many cookies you get out of the recipe.
